Maak kennis met de dame die letterlijk foodporn maakt

De term foodporn ken je misschien van alle foodbloggers die op Instagram hun kekke kiekjes van de meest kleurrijke gerechten plaatsen. Kan best leuk zijn maar Stephanie Sarley vatte de definitie van foodporn net iets anders op, ze neemt het namelijk wel heel erg letterlijk. En eigenlijk is dat, hoewel het behoorlijk vreemd is, stiekem best grappig.

Tja, dit is kunst tegenwoordig heren. Kunst met een hoog WTF gehalte. Ze maakt ook films trouwens, en kleurboeken die niet voor jouw kinderen bedoeld zijn. Ze lijkt wel echt wat tegen het mannelijke geslacht te hebben trouwens, de penissen moeten het meestal ontgelden en verliezen het van een keukenmes. Een tikkeltje zorgwekkend.

Clip from my short film Untitled, 2016 I decided not to say anything yesterday to say here that everyday is international women's day. Women are half the population. The conversation should continue past a day or a month. I know it does for many who are always advocating and the movement right now is massive but I also see a lot of corny posts about like name five female artists or here's to the lovely ladies type appreciation and it's sweet but also very trivializing to women's oppression. Five women compared to how many men? The gender wage gap won't be closing for centuries and North America is going backwards now. Until we stop subjugating ourselves can we truly challenge the hierarchy?

I'm almost at loss of words with how scared and disappointed I am with the US government mainly the RNC that has sold out to partisanship. I'm hurting, i'm angry for all the marginalized people that have to live and try to thrive in a country that has shown it's ugly side with no regrets. They are no longer wolves in sheeps clothing, they are just wolves with a smile. Millions of Americans succumbed to fear and hate propaganda and the Russian influence by lack of critical thinking. This shows by example that like Trump you can lie, cheat and steal your way to the top in America as long as you are a rich white male. You can succeed by insulting everyone that disagrees with you if you have the privilege to do so. That it's okay to hate women, POC, immigrants, LGBTQ or the disabled just because. There is nothing Trump can do to take back the negative implications he burdened the American people with but there is something that we the people can do. We can channel our rage into art. Strengthen our communities. Refuse to accept the rolling back of civil liberties and our constitutional rights. Resist complacency. And most of all we must continue to love with compassion and not let fear take over our lives. There is hope. Trump has the lowest approval rating of any incoming president. He is currently being investigated on his ties to Russia. He lost the popular vote by about 3 million votes. The women's march and protests are going to be record turn out. We can overcome this. I again invite you to channel rage into art. And as Jerry Saltz @jerrysaltz says Make The Art World Great Again.
