Ze groeide op in Oahu, vlakbij de zee. Van jongs af aan hield ze zich bezig met surfen en duiken, volgens haarzelf deelde ze haar hele leven al het water met haaien. Naast alle nevenactiviteiten wist ze een bachelor in psychogologie, een minor in mariene biologie en een mastergraad te halen. Ze zet zich in voor het milieu en spreekt met regelmaat over het behoud van de oceanen. Een van haar boodschappen is evident: haaien zijn niet de monsters die we op het witte doek voorbij zien komen. So happy to get to go see this #amazing #beautiful #strong #incrediblewoman my dear #inspiring #conservationist #freediver #seaster #worldtraveler #makinganimpact with her talented, sweet, intelligent, incredible ohana @andycorbe + two daughters. Yeah, I don't know how they do it all & raise their two amazing daughters in such an innovative way while they sail around the world. I first met them when we went to Western Australia to combat the #SharkCull and I hadn't met two people more dedicated, working everyday before sunrise without sleep in rough cold weather, watching the animals you love being killed. Tough people #Respect .
